Young Alena lives in a small seaside town. She is cheery, pretty, and kind - just like a fairy mermaid. That's why friends call her Undine. Alena works in dolphinarium where she got her unchangingly good humor and beautiful tan. Undine's life changes dramatically when family of a businessman comes to town. Taranov and his lover Elizaveta with her grown-up son want to enjoy a holiday at the sea-side. They never expected what melodrama awaits them here. A themed variety show, in which the skits and music centered around Sha Na Na (a '50s-style "greaser" rock band) and the neighborhood in which they lived (an unidentified inner city neighborhood reminiscent of the Bronx).

During military exercise a group of commandos walks into a mine field that has been left over since WWII. The only person who can save the trapped men is Serba, a surviving soldier of WWII, who was in the field back in 1943.
